Jorden made counts yesterday, and started chemo and will have chemo each day this week. His liver counts are still double what they should be, but that is better than the “3 times”, and “4 times” higher numbers that they were this past month.

He is also excited to be invited to Wednesday’s final game of the Tampa Bay Rays season as well as Little League opening ceremonies Friday night.

Jorden’s first Little League game is this Saturday at 4:30 PM at the Dr. Phillips Little League fields, located behind the Dr. Phillips YMCA. If you have no plans, come on out to the ball field and cheer on Jorden and his team the Rays.

Joanne and Jorden met with the Arnold Palmer doctors yesterday and they continue to be impressed and so pleased with his ball playing and overall recovery.

At one of Jorden’s practices last week, Joanne overheard two young girls talking to each other as they played under the bleachers. They did not know she was there and their conversation was the following:

L.H. – “did you see that Jorden Aponte is practicing on the field?”

C.M. – “Yeah, I know”

L.H. – Isn’t it great that he is here”

C.M. – Yeah it is”

L.H. – Yeah, I didn’t think he would be back. It’s so great that he is here”

We know we are blessed. We are in such a good place. Our family continues to be touched by your friendships and faith, and God’s mercy, love and healing over Jorden.

Jorden stepping onto the field this coming Saturday is a true testament to the power of prayer, faith, perseverance and what can happen when a community comes together. Thank you for being part of Jorden’s Journey, the journey isn’t over and we still have a way to go but we could not have asked to be in a better place than we are at this time.

Are you baseball ready? Jorden is.
