On Friday July 27th Jorden completed his final radiation/chemo treatment here at Houston’s MD Anderson;  this was a major accomplishment. In recognition of his completion of treatments, Jorden was able to ring a bell three times which is an MD Anderson tradition.

Ringing the Bell

Jorden was able to tolerate all 20 sessions even though he was sick for one week of his treatment plan. He was able to do so with mild side effects.  God continues to bless him and keep him close.

Jorden’s  blood counts were lowered by the radiation. While we waited for them to increase, we spent the last five days relaxing and enjoying time away from the hospital. With a few days of no appointments, we spent time at the movies. Jorden was happy to watch Ice Age 3, Batman and Step It Up.

Today Jorden  was invited for a special treat.  He was able to receive a hands on experience working at one of the original Carrabba’s restaurants with Mrs. Carrabba herself and her staff. Jorden shadowed Jason the manager, and was exposed to all aspects of the operation.

Carrabba’s

We would like to thank Mrs. Carrabba for her sincere warmth and kindness towards Jorden and our family. We have had the pleasure of spending time on three occasions with Mrs. Carrabba, and each one was more special than the other.  Our sincere thanks go out to her and her team.

We would also like to thank Javier Bracamonte of the Houston Astros for being such a gracious host and friend to Jorden while we have been here in Houston. Earlier this month Javier invited Jorden to the Astros vs Brewers game where he was able to attend batting practice and meet some of the players. Jorden was also able to meet Florida’s own Rickie Weeks.

Thank you again to everyone for making us feel welcomed and providing Jorden with memorable experiences that will last a lifetime.
