Since Jorden’s release from the hospital last Thursday, he has been doing well.

Saturday morning Jorden had a surprise visitor. Derrick, his brother, took an early flight to be here at 8:30 a.m. Jorden was still asleep when he arrived, and when Derrick laid beside him, Jorden woke up and was so surprised. It was such a great sound hearing Jorden say his brother’s name with such emotion. Jorden was missing his brother so much. It was really nice to have Derrick here these past 4 days; he left this afternoon – and we miss him already.

Jorden has been able to tolerate the additional time on his radiation plan so we will be able to fly home Aug 2nd as originally planned.

His blood counts have dropped, so he will do 5 days of neupogen shots to bring his counts back up, but all else has been good.

Jorden has 3 more chemo/radiation treatments left. We all cannot wait until Friday, when this phase of treatment will be complete.

If Jorden is able to eat enough protein and calories over the weekend, they will be able to remove his feeding tube on Wednesday, Aug 1st (the day before we leave). If not, they will keep the feeding tube in and he will have to have the tube removed back in Orlando.

Jorden starts the last leg of his treatment in Orlando on Aug 13th. He will have 8 outpatient week-long chemo treatments. This will last 6 months.

We are also scheduled to fly back to Houston Sept 17th & 18th for follow-up scans and doctor visits.

We are thankful to everyone for all of your thoughts, well wishes, cards, gifts, care packages, texts and most of all your prayers. We love you all.

We are all so very excited to finish this leg of his journey and cannot wait to be back home in 9 more days.
