On Saturday, June 23rd at 7:00 p.m., the Orlando Freedom are playing the Orlando Monarchs, and they’re donating a portion of ticket sales to help the Aponte family with the costs of Jorden’s medical care.

The Freedom and the Monarchs are two of six teams in the Florida Collegiate Summer League (Florida League), which is a wood bat league that provides an opportunity for college players to play wood bat baseball against top-level competition with the goal of preparing them for a career in professional baseball.  The Florida League is recognized by Baseball America as one of the top summer leagues in the US.  165 former Florida League players have been drafted by MLB teams – with 24 former players taken in the 2011 MLB draft.

The flyer for the game on June 23rd follows, and you’ll find links for purchasing tickets and donating to the Aponte family below the flyer:

This Orlando Freedom game will be on the
Orel Hershiser Field at The First Academy – 2667 Bruton Blvd. Orlando

Click here to access the online form for purchasing tickets ($5 each) to the game, and choose the “Jorden Aponte Playing With A Purpose Night” option. If you can’t attend the game but would like to make a donation to the Aponte family, please click here.
