Thank you so much for your support at Sunday’s DPLL opening ceremonies and auction.  Turned out to be a great day with no rain at all!  We appreciate those who were able to make it out.  Your love and support were certainly felt and seen by all.  It was especially great to hear Nelson thank the teams and community for their continued prayers.  He even threw out the 1st ball since Jorden couldn’t be there himself.  Special thanks to each committee member, volunteer and donor who made it a success and to Diane Petit, who led us all there.

As we all know, Jorden is a determined young man, but he has a tough fight ahead of him, including travel out of state for surgery once all of his chemo treatments are completed at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.  He has now completed 5 rounds of chemo and is standing strong as he continues to get “baseball ready.”

The Torch Relay is hosting a 2nd “Playing With A Purpose” fundraiser this Friday, March 2nd to benefit Jorden and the Aponte family!  Enjoy a special evening of fun and games at the Marriott Orlando World Center.  Evening activities include table games (black jack and roulette), silent and live auctions, 50/50 raffle as well as a poker tournament.

The cost of entry to the event is just $25 per person.  You can RSVP now to Playing with a Purpose.  Here are the event details again:
Where:   Orlando Marriott World Center (http://www.marriottworldcenter.com/)
When:   Friday, March, 2nd – 7:00 PM (The poker tournament will begin at 7:30 pm)

Enjoy a fun evening and make a difference in the life of a great kid!

We realize that many of you live out of state and/or are unable to attend these events but still want to help with the Apontes’ medical expenses.  We welcome your contributions (prayers included).  If you would like to make a donation, please click here.
